Grand Canyon Jasper - These slabs are cut from the Grand Canyon Jasper that came down the Colorado in ancient floods an estimated 5 million years ago.  The exact origin is unknown but is found only in the lower flood plain hills over a hundred miles south of Hoover Dam in eastern Arizona.  There is a wide variation of color and pattern.  It is solid and hard and takes a great polish.  Many of the local rockhounds call it copralite but that is unconfirmed. Slabs are priced at $10 lb.
